Morty is a handsome long hair dachshund that was surrendered to a local shelter when his owner unexpectedly passed away.  Morty is about 12 years old or so.  Morty and Delilah are attached to each other and we would like to try to adopt them out together.  

Morty is a favorite in his foster home!  He is low and slow and ready to go!  Morty loves his corner of the kitchen and will snooze the day away there.  He is low energy - unless it's snowing and then he is full of fun!  He loves to roll in it, make paths and let the snow cover him.  Morty goes up and down small flights of stairs but cannot do a lot of stairs.  He sometimes needs help getting up the last few steps.  Morty appears to be housetrained with frequent trips outside.  His foster mom works from home so that is helpful.  If he is left for a long period of time, he should have pee pads to use.  Morty is good with other dogs but if someone is too active around him or tries to take his food he will quickly correct them.  Morty loves belly rubs and rolls over on his back to get his daily dose of rubs.  Morty walks very nicely on a leash but because he loves the outside so much we would like to place him in a home with a fully fenced yard (no invisible fences).  Morty shows interest in cats.  Kids would be fine if they are older and not expecting a playmate.  Morty is a long hair dachshund and will require regular grooming throughout his life.  His ideal home would be a quiet one with someone home a lot and that likes to go for walks, watch TV and go for car rides!  Since Morty has always been with Delilah, we would like them to be adopted together and will only be considering applications that are interested in both dogs at this time. 

Morty is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treatment and tested neg. for heartworm.  He has also been given a dental.  His adoption fee is $300
