Chihuahua (short coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Senior : : Small
Learn more about the Chihuahua. Please meet sweet senior Princess - she is at a fine age of 16 years (est). Princess was adopted several years ago from a local shelter and then given up after a break up. We weren't going to let anything happen to this lady - no way. Princess came to us with her good friend Bobby. Initially, we were going to try to adopt them out together but decided as long as they have other dogs in the home, they can be separated. But if you would like to adopt both - that would be great too! Princess is looking for her retirement home. Other small, calm dogs would be most welcome. Princess is very sweet and loving. She is happy to be with someone, whether it be people or dogs. She sleeps most of the day away. What a life! She will go outside to potty but also uses pads. She is not able to do stairs. Because of her age and size, no large dogs are small children. What are some of the reasons to adopt a senior dog? Let me tell you! They are ready to love and BE loved! They are calmer and have a lower need for exercise (although they may need and want a little). Because they are less active - they require less food! Their medical and behavior issues are known. They are usually trained but can also pick up a new routine! Senior dogs do NOT do well in a hectic, noisy shelter - which is why we try very hard to help as many as possible. One of the best reasons to adopt a senior dog has nothing to do with convenience but everything to do with kindness. Senior dogs deserve a chance to live out their lives in a loving home. Wouldn't you love to give these two dogs that chance? Princess is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, tested neg for heartworm. Both dogs were at the vet recently for physicals and vaccines. Princess's adoption fee is $75 - please apply online!
