2/10/13 - Mocha update! 
Mocha has completed her heartworm treatment and is ready for her new home!  This sweet girl is such a wonderful dog, she really deserves a family of her own!  Yes she is a pitty mix but we all know that they make the best friends and family dogs!  Mocha is a great size, a nice medium dog.  She is smart, very trainable (knows basic) and eager to please.  She is leash trained but would prefer a fenced yard to run and zoom!  She is wonderfully crate trained and also house trained.  Mocha loves people, she is so affectionate and loving.  She is fantastic with other dogs, big or small and loves to play with them!  No issues with cats either.

Mocha is spayed, up to date on vaccines, micrchipped, and completed her heartworm treatment.  She will need to be tested again in a couple of months but Pixie Mamas will pay for any part of her heartworm treatment.  Mocha's adoption fee is $200 - you will not find a sweeter dog in Buffalo folks!










This pretty girl is Mocha!  She is 2 1/2 years old and about 28 pounds.  We think she is a lab/terrier/hound mix??  Not sure at all!!  But she is sweet, smart, playful and an all around great dog!

Mocha's story is a unique one for us.  She was saved off of death row by a fellow animal advocate and started her new life very loved and taken care of.  With a strange and cruel twist of fate, Mocha's owner was paralyzed in a motorcycle accident and could no longer care for her.  Mocha was facing being sent back to a shelter where owner surrenders are immediately euthanized.  But Mocha had a guardian angel named Susan who searched tirelessly for someone to help her and that is why she is now with Pixie Mamas in NY!  We were hoping to be able to send Mocha back to her mom when she was ready and able, but she decided to let Mocha start a new life while she adjusted to her new life.  Pretty amazing. 

Mocha is a great dog.  She is so friendly to everyone and loves to hug!  She loves other dogs - especially playful dogs that she can run and goof with!  She is fine with cats too.  Mocha is leash trained, crate trained and house trained (please expect some accidents while she adjusts to a new routine).  She knows basic commands but is very eager to please so will be easily trainable!  She is mellow and high energy at the same time - she is calm and gentle in the house and an energetic young dog outside too!  She is getting used to the cold, she is a southern girl remember!  Mocha will be happy with a big family, a couple or single person that likes to do things and take her with them!  She is just happy to be here and very easy going!
