Marigold

This gorgeous girl is named Marigold.  Historically, the marigold flower was linked to the blinding force of the sun and represents power, strength, and light that lives inside of a person.  Marigold and her sisters were found in an abandoned trailer in Texas, surrounded by rotting food, broken furniture, filth and garbage.  Just as bad as the images we have all seen on that awful TV show.  For Marigold, this wasn’t just on the screen – she lived it.  True to her name, she rose up and allowed the light inside her furry little body to shine for all of us to see.

Marigold is a 2 year old chihuahua mix.  Her markings are subtle, yet very unique and distinctive.  Her spots are similar to those of a hyena, taking you back to a more wild and ancient time.  Marigold is a tiny girl – just over 6 lbs. - but she has a big personality.  She wants to play, she wants to cuddle, she wants to be right in the middle of the family.    Marigold sleeps on the bed, burrowed way beneath the covers.  She will keep your feet toasty warm this winter!  She gets along well with the other dogs in her foster home and can be found curled up in a doggie bed with a fur sister at any given time.  She loves to sit in your lap while you watch TV or read.  She will jump up there on her own if it is taking you too long to invite her up there yourself.  She loves treats and will take one very gently from your fingers.

Marigold uses potty pads during the day because her foster mama works.  She knows to go potty outside as well.  She is still learning how a regular home works – please be patient as she learns the routine of your home.  She wants most of all to please her people and show her love for them.  Give her a chance to do that.  She loves to run in the yard and listen to the birds.  She pays attention to everything going on around her – from the crinkle of the chip bag in the kitchen to a stranger walking by the house.  She doesn’t miss much and if it is warranted, she barks to alert her family to what is going on outside.  She feels she has a job to do, and is ready to take on anything that entails.  She is your wingman, your ride-or-die companion.  She has your back.

Marigold had a very rough start but has come miles from where she began.  It is time for her to find the forever home that she deserves.  She may be small, but her love is mighty.

Marigold is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  Her adoption fee is $400
