Learn more about the Schnauzer. Contact RJ's Caretaker/Foster Directly: Debbie What a story RJ has to tell! RJ was a stray dog in the city and he was hit be a car - nothing major, just bruising and a bloody nose thankfully. RJ was in survival mode, scared and hurting. He was found in Forest Lawn Cemetery doing his best to avoid capture. Boy he gave the dog control officer a work out trying to catch him but eventually he was and was taken to the shelter. He was SO scared there and just didn't know who he could trust. The shelter staff asked us to help and we couldn't say no. RJ is a sweet, lovable dog. But he takes some time to trust you and if you have cheese, it speeds the process right up! RJ needs a patient, understanding home that will give him some time and space to adjust. He is leash trained but could use a little more work at it. A fenced yard would be nice for him to continue his house training skills. RJ is crate trained too. He is fine with other dogs. He does not live with cats currently but has met them and had no issues. RJ is good with older, respectful kids - probably 12+. He rides nicely in the car when he goes on errands with his foster mom! RJ is quiet and laid back and that is the type of home he would like to have. He is not a plug in dog - he needs a little time and work but he will be worth every bit of understanding and love you give him because he really wants to give it back to you! RJ is now neutered, up to date with vaccines, micrcochipped, heartworm tested neg, flea/worm treated AND he has been groomed! His adoption fee is $275 - please fill out an application on our website if you are interested in being the perfect home for an almost perfect dog!
