Learn more about the Bichon Frise. Learn more about the Shih Tzu. Contact Joy's Caretaker/Foster Directly: Foster Sweet Joy is a puppy mill survivor - she was used for breeding to sell her puppies at pet stores until they could no longer maintain her health and then dumped her. Joy is a bichon/shih tzu mix, 4 years old and 13 pounds. Joy is still timid - it takes time and patience with mill dogs. She is sweet and gentle, craving love and touch from people. She would do best in a quiet home with other dogs. Mill survivors learn best from the other pets in the home! She is learning the routine in her foster home nicely. She is crate trained and likes to be outside. Housetraining is going to take a little time for her. Cats and other dogs are fine. Joy's life has not been that great until now - we are looking for a loving patient home that will give her the time she needs to adjust to finally being a pet instead of a piece of property. Can you be that home? If you are not sure what a puppy mill dog is, please research. They are not for everyone and every home - but when you see and feel the joy of their smallest accomplishments, you will be hooked. Joy is now spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm tested neg, microchipped, flea/worm treated. She had an ulcer on her eye and due to the severity of it, her eye was enucleated. Joy has also been groomed - probably for the first time in her life! Her adoption fee is $250 to help cover some of her medical expenses. Please apply online if you are interested in adopting Joy! Joy has been sponsored! Her adoption fee is now $200!!
