This handsome fellow is Oscar, an 8 year old mini dachshund.  Oscar came to us because his elderly owner could not longer safely walk him.  He is a strong little guy and she was too frail.  Oscar is black and tan with a little white around the edges!  Please don't let dissuade you - older dogs make the best pets and Oscar is a great dog!

Oscar is leash trained - he is not a big fan of the crate but will go in it when needed.  He seems to be housetrained but please expect accidents.  Oscar likes to be outside in the yard so a fenced one would be nice but not required if he is walked often on leash.  Oscar gets along great with other dogs and really likes their company.  He is fine with cats too.  Oscar is good with kids but remember kids need to be respectful of all little dogs!  He is an all around nice boy that would love a new home soon - he wants his very own lap to call his own!  Oscar would do well in an older person(s) home too - he makes great company!

Oscar is now neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm tested neg, worm and flea treated.  He has also been given a dental, just to clean his teeth.  His adoption fee is $200 to help cover these costs.  Please apply online if you are interested in making Oscar part of your family!
