This long and lean little man is Carter, a handsome little miniature dachshund.  Carter was surrendered to our rescue because his owner was relocating and could not take him with her.  Carter is about 10 months and is a small guy, only 9 pounds.  Carter is still just a baby and needs another little dog to play with and keep him company during the day.  He is getting used to be left at home during the day but he does cry a bit initially.  Carter is doing great with his crate training at nigh but would really love to curl up in bed with you!  He is leash trained but should have a yard that is fenced - remember this dog is a sight hound and hunter - he will chase a squirrel or bird and be gone!  This goofy boy is just a little lover boy, very affectionate and a total lap dog!  He could spend the entire day curled up on your lap or next to you on the couch if he had his way. 

Carter is scheduled to be neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested and brought up to date on his vaccinations mid November and will be ready for adoption on November 20th.  If you are interested in making this little guy part of your family, please fill out an application online!
