Learn more about the Chihuahua.

Beautiful Gretchen is ready to find her new home!  Gretchen is a tiny chihuahua, about 7 years old and only weighs 5 pounds.  Gretchen is a local girl who came from a home with too many dogs and the owner needed help.

Gretchen has really come out of her shell in the past couple of months.  She was very timid initially as she had little human contact.  Gretchen has been attending our events and has discovered people aren't so bad!  Her tail is always wagging.  Gretchen can still be timid at home and does need more work when she goes to her new home.  She will also need a fully fenced yard (no invisible fences) as she does not walk on a leash yet.  She likes to go out but most of the time she uses potty pads as that is what she only used in her last home.  Gretchen should have another small dog in her new home to help her build confidence and bond with. She is fine with cats.  Kids should be fine if they are older (12+) and respectful of her tiny size.  Gretchen's favorite thing to do is snuggle under a blanket or comforter and snooze the day away!

Gretchen is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  She has been diagnosed with a heart murmur but is non symptomatic and is not on any medications.  Her adoption fee is $400
