Nellie is ready for her new home and life to begin!  Nellie is a mixed breed - a mutt!  She is about 4 years old and 24 pounds.  She is a nice sized dog - somewhere between small and medium size!

Nellie came to us from Texas where she was found as a stray - just wandering the streets looking for her family and food.  Our rescue partners took her in and got her to NY so that she could find a family to love her again.  

Nellie is an absolute sweetheart! She forms quick bonds with the people that take care of her and is always eager to please them. This gentle dog likes to spend her days snoozing in her crate or by her foster mom's desk. Nellie gets along well with other dogs and doesn't mind the cats in her foster home.  She likes having the company of another dog around her but if she gets lots of love and attention from her family, she will be fine. She's crate trained and walks well on a leash. Nellie absolutely loves being outside, and her foster mom sometimes has to carry her  to get her in - she has a fully fenced yard in her foster home and loves it. She's also house-trained but might need a little time to adjust to a new routine. Nellie has been around kids and did great. She's a calm and well-behaved companion in the car and loves going for rides.  

Nellie is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  Her adoption fee is $400
