Shetland Sheepdog Sheltie (long coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Young : : Small
Learn more about the Shetland Sheepdog Sheltie. Willa is a beautiful 1 year old Sheltie that was released from a breeder that is going out of business. She a small little thing - only 20 pounds! Willa is slowly starting to blossom in her foster home. For the most part, she is a calm girl, content to watch the world go by from under her kitchen chair. However, she does have moments of high energy, especially when she's outside. She loves running around with the other dogs and gets visibly excited when she sees her foster mom. She's gradually adapting to living as a real dog now. Willa enjoys being petted and brushed. She is making good progress in her foster home, and we believe she's ready to continue learning in her forever home. Willa is crate trained, and we have been slowly introducing her to the leash, but she will need more practice with that. She is making progress with house training, and having a fully fenced yard in her foster home has been a big help. As she adjusts to her new home and routine, occasional accidents are to be expected. She gets along well with other dogs and is okay with the cats in her current living situation. However, she hasn't had much exposure to children in her foster home. We understand that Willa still has some training to do, but we believe she will adapt more quickly in her forever home. Willa is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm. She has been professionally groomed too! Her adoption fee is $550
