Learn more about the Toy Fox Terrier. Learn more about the Chihuahua. 3/30 - Baby has really come to life in this warmer weather! She really enjoys being in the yard, chasing and yelling at those rowdy pups! Baby likes to boss them around!
Baby is happy to snooze during the day and is a good little girl. She enjoys cuddling with my daughter and has bonded with her. It is very cute to see Baby follow her around all day! Baby would love a home of her own - there could be another little dog and cats do not bother her. She is a great little dog! Baby Girl, my little sweet girl. This is the part of rescue that still gets to me, when people for no good reason, just give up a dog that they had for many years because it is not adjusting to their new life. Baby is from Texas originally, she had a family for all her life. When they moved to NY recently, Baby was a little confused about where she was now, a new home, new weather and nothing was the same anymore! She was not doing well with her #2 potty because of all of these things and her family said well off to the shelter you go, we are not going to give you any time to adjust because you are just a dog - you have no feelings! They were not going to give her time or confine her, just let her go without any attempt to make it work. So there Baby sat, terrified and now very confused. The shelter staff knew she would not do well on the adoption floor and they did not want to see her euthanized, so they contacted Pixie Mamas to help her. And now here she is online, waiting to find a new family that is not going to throw her away. BG is small. She is just about 5 1/2 pounds. Yes, she is older but she has long life ahead of her so please do not let her age deter you! Baby is nervous around new people and for good reason - the people she loved her whole life totally abandoned her and she doesn't know who she can trust now. She should not be in a home with small kids or big dogs. I think the ideal home for Baby will be where she is the only dog in a quiet home with someone that understands her and will give her the time and love she needs right now. If you know small dogs, you know NY weather is not always condusive to them going outside and they should be given other options. Baby loves her crate and we filled it with blankets and soft things so she is in heaven right now. If Baby is not going to be with someone home a lot, she should be gated until she is comfortable. It took her a few days of us just letting her be and she came right around. She really loves my teenage daughter and she loves to be near her humans. My heart breaks for Baby, she just wants to find a new home and family to love her.
