English Bulldog (short coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Adult : : Large
Meatball Alert! Lovely Lily is ready for her new home! Lily is a beautiful blue English Bulldog. She is about 4 years old and weighs 60 pounds. Lily came to us from Texas where she was being retired from breeding (thank DOG!) and needed a lot of TLC. We love our EBDs here! Lily is a wonderful dog and a typical bulldog! She is full of snorts, snores, grunts and toots! Even though Lily was considered a pet in her former home, she was bred over and over again but now that life is over with for her. She is now truly a pet and can enjoy her life as it was always meant to be. Lily is happy and loves attention - she loves to get those booty scratches and will smack you with her paws to get your attention! She is leash trained and crate trained but we do not crate her often. She is allowed to hang out with her foster sister EBDs and she does just fine. She will snooze with them and occasionally play, She is a champion napper! Lily seems to be housetrained - we really think she is - but please expect some adjustment time. She has a fully fenced yard in her foster home and likes to hang out there but really prefers the house and a comfy bed! She does walk well on a leash and gets excited when she knows she is going somewhere. She loves the car! Lily can do a short amount of stairs. Long flights are hard for her but about 5 is fine. Lily loves her food and is very motivated to get a treat! She does fine with other dogs but like a typical bulldog will let them know when she is doesn't want them around her. Cats are fine - they love to clean her face! We know Lily is going to be fine with kids but they may get knocked over on occasion so they must by sturdy to stand up to her antics! Lily came to us with some pretty severe skin and eye issues. With antibiotics and good food, her skin has cleared up but it may always be an issue. This is pretty typical for her breed and color (blue). Because her eyes were swollen and infected for years, she now has chronic dry eye and requires eye drops a few times a day. Lily - like all English Bulldogs - requires daily grooming/cleaning of her wrinkles and eyes. English Bulldogs are great but they come with a health issues - if they don't have them now, something always shows up in time! So please keep that in mind - vet bills can add up. Lily is now spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm. Her adoption fee is $500
