Learn more about the Dachshund.

Please meet Kodiak  - or Kody or Kodiak Jack!  Lots of names fit this little dude!  Kodiak is a dachshund mix and about 3 months old.  He originally hails from Texas but is ready to make Buffalo his home now.

Kodiak will charm you for sure!  He is sweet and obedient and when he looks at you with those puppy dog eyes, you fall for him every time!  He is a smart little dog and listens well.  Kodi can keep up with the bigger pups in his foster home and he loves to play.  He loves toys as all puppies do!  He is cuddly and snuggly!

Kodiak is crate trained and working on his leash skills.  He is not quite there so if you do not have a fenced yard, more work will be needed.  He is doing well with his housetraining but he is still just a baby and will require additional training.  He is let outside often in his foster home and he knows what he is supposed to do!  He makes sure his foster mom is watching so he can get his praise and treats!  Kody has been around cats and did just fine.  We don't anticipate any issues with kids as long as they are gentle and respectful of him.  Like all puppies - Kodiak is a blank slate that will require training, love and patience to make him the best boy ever!

Kodiak is current on age-appropriate vaccines, dewormed and microchipped.       We require a spay/neuter contract to be signed at the time of adoption (the cost of his neuter is included in the adoption fee and fully explained in the contract).   He is scheduled to be neutered at Operation Pets in August 2023 and it will be the adopter's responsibility to take him to the appointment.  His adoption fee is $450
