11/2/09 - update from her foster mom "Opal has stopped being protective over her crate!  It must have been a shelter thing.  She is playing with the dogs now and is just doing fine.  Poor little Opal must have been scared in the shelter!"

10/28/09 - Opal is new to Pixie Mamas and will not be available for adoption until November 5 at this point.  We are accepting applications though if you are interested in being pre-approved.  Please check back for more updates as we get to know her more!


This little girl is just too precious.  Opal is a small little mix female, we think Shih Tzu and maybe poodle.  She is a pretty little dog that is all I know for sure!

Opal loves her crate - she loves to snuggle up in it and I leave the door open for her so she can get in and out.   She dosn't like the the other dogs around her crate and chases them away but I think she is just still adjusting from the shelter and her fear will fade away. She is perfectly fine with the dogs away from the crate.   She is housetrained, she may have a couple of mishaps but that is expected with any dog in a new home.  Once you hold Opal, you will realize how sweet and loveable she is.  She likes people and loves to be pet.  We will see if she is leash trained this week. 

This highly adoptable little girl's adoption fee is $250.  It will help with the vetting costs of some of the higher need dogs in our rescue.
