10/27 - please meet Miss Mandy, a gorgeous Shih Tzu looking to start her new life in New York.
Mandy was rescued once from the shelter where we got her from but was returned after 6 months.  It seems that Mandy would like to be the boss of the other dogs and the family did not have time to work with her.  She likes to stand and mount the other dogs  and most of them do not like that!  So it is probably better that she be the only dog in the house.  She is fine with cats though and is good with kids also.  Mandy seems to be housetrained, we have not had any accidents so far.  Most dogs will though until they get into a routine but I think she will adjust quickly. 
Mandy is scheduled to be groomed this week (Bow Wow & Meow in West Falls!).  Please remember that Shih Tzus are a breed that will need regular grooming and you will need to able to take to a groomer every 6 weeks.  Lots of brushing too!
Mandy will be available after 10/31, we want to make sure she is healthy before she goes anywhere.  Please fill out an application though  - I do not think Mandy will be in rescue too long!
