Please meet Nellie!  Nellie is a 1 year old Standard Poodle that came to us from a local breeder.  She is on the smaller size for a Standard, just under 30 pounds!

Nellie has come a long way while in rescue.  She came to us timid and underweight.  Her foster mom worked hard on getting her weight up and started socializing her.  Nellie is a poodle through and through!  She is active, playful and very smart!  She has quickly learned the routine of her foster home.  She loves to wrestle with other dogs but can be rough, so if there are other dogs in her future home, they should be on the sturdier side.   Nellie loves to be outdoors and has a fully fenced yard in her foster home.  We believe she should have a fenced yard in her new home (no invisible fences).  She is active and needs to be able to run some energy off!  She has just started walking on a leash and as long as she sees her person, she does great.  It is all new to her, so we know with practice, she will continue to improve.  Like most poodles, she barks and it can be loud!  Apartments will not be considered for her.  Nellie does not do well in a crate.  She is fine if you are in the room but will bark when you leave.  This lasts for about 10 minutes and then she settles down for a bit.  If left too long, she will start barking again.  Her foster mom has started to put her in a gated room.  Since being in rescue, Nellie is housetrained!  Please expect some adjustment time in her new home as she learns a new routine.  

Nellie will require regular grooming throughout her life so please keep that in mind.  Grooming is new to her so a patient groomer is needed.  

This beauty will make a great companion - she is full of love and wants nothing more to please her person!

Nellie is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, and tested neg. for heartworm. She has been professionally groomed also!
