Learn more about the Dachshund. Leonard is looking for his new home! He is a long hair dachshund, about 2 or 3 years old and weighs 12 pounds. Leonard was found as a stray with an injury to his eye - he was never claimed so he became a Pixie! His eye has healed with just a small scar and it does not interfere with his vision. Leonard's an active and playful dog! He is excellent with other dogs and a big-time player! He LOVES to be outside, no matter the weather. Because of this, his foster mom wants him to have a fully fenced yard (no invisible fences). He gets the zoomies and runs all over and it is just so much fun for him. His favorite time of the year is winter with lots of snow! He would play in it all day long if he could. He loves toys and chewies. Leonard is sweet and affectionate and wants lots of love and attention from his foster family. He has a charming personality and a foster favorite in our rescue. Leonard is leash-trained and crate trained, although he prefers to be gated instead of crated. He is working on his housetraining and doing great but he will also use potty pads in his foster home. Leonard has a big bark that he uses during play and when he is doing his job as a good watchdog. He has been around cats and has not had any issues although he is interested in playing with them. He has not been around young kids, but we do not think it will be an issue. Leonard is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, and tested neg. for heartworm. His adoption fee is $450
