West Highland White Terrier Westie (long coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Adult : : Small
Learn more about the West Highland White Terrier Westie. Here she is… Miss Jamie Lee! This superstar is ready for her new adventure in life. Jamie Lee is a 5-year-old Westie that is a recent breeder release. Her life of making beautiful puppies is over; this gal wants to be somebody’s baby.
When Jamie Lee first came into rescue with her brother Curtis, she was nervous around new dogs and would growl and snap at them. Now she absolutely loves the other dogs in her foster home. We think she may have recently had puppies when arriving and needed time for her hormones to adjust. Now she will play with the other dogs in her foster home, on her terms of course. After all, she is a terrier. She prefers the company of her humans over that of the dogs. She is a very laid-back gal and would prefer a laid-back home. If there is another dog in the house, it should be calm and relaxed, similar to her. Although another dog is not required.
Jame Lee is a sweetheart. She likes to sleep the day away on the back of her foster mama's couch or lying in the window watching the world go by. Jamie is crate-trained and leash-trained. As soon as she sees the leash, Jamie Lee is ready to go. She does pull when on a walk, but that’s only because she is so excited to go. There are so many smells to explore and sites to see. Jamie Lee is good with a variety of people but does take a little bit longer to warm up to men than women. She doesn’t bark, growl or try to bite, she watches them a little longer before she trusts a man. Jamie Lee is doing excellent on her house training too! She knows exactly what to do when she is outside and will do it. It will be up to her new family to teach her their routine and continue working on it. Even with the snow we recently had, Jamie Lee went outside. She seemed to enjoy running in the yard chasing the snowflakes. Speaking of playing, her new home better have plenty of squeaky toys for her to play with. She really likes the stuffed lamb chop. That seems to be her favorite. Jamie Lee will carry her “baby” all around the house. In fact, it helps her settle in new situations. If you think Jamie Lee is the right match for you, make sure you apply today. We do not get Westies into our rescue often, so we don’t think this princess will be around long. Jamie Lee is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, flea//worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm. Her adoption fee is $450
