Sophia Loren – stunning, iconic Italian beauty.  Sophia Vergara – gorgeous Latina superstar. Sofia Coppola – daughter of Oscar winning director Francis Ford Coppola and a director herself as well.  Sophie Turner – Sansa Stark, Queen in the North from Game of Thrones.  Are all the Sophias in this world powerful and drop-dead gorgeous?

Yes.  Yes, they are!  And you can add our Sophia to that list.  Sophia is an 18 lb. Malchi (maltese/chihuahua mix) who recently came into rescue.  Her elderly owner passed earlier this year, and although the family tried – there was no place for Sophia.  We jumped at the chance to make this gorgeous girl a pixie!

Sophia is 11 years old, but you would never know it by looking at her or watching her in action.  She is a pale tan with white accents – the color of the foam at the top of a root beer float.  Her fur is thick and very soft.  It’s a good thing she loves to be petted because once you touch her, you won’t want to stop! She has deep chocolate brown eyes that suck you right in.  She will nuzzle her head right under your chin or lay it on your shoulder.  You can’t help but fall in love.  She is a stunner. Molto Bella, Sophia! Molto Bella. (very beautiful!)

Sophia is very affectionate and loves to have her belly rubbed.  By anyone.  At any time.  You will get booped with a paw if you stop too soon.  She is also a very good watchdog, nothing gets by her.  Her bark is much bigger than her body & people are surprised that such a deep noise came out of that compact body!  She has also been known to give out a howl or two when she is very excited.  Because of this, Sophia would not be a good fit for an apartment setting.

Sophia does great with the other dogs in her foster home and would benefit from having another dog in her forever home. She loves to play and to snuggle up in a doggie pile when it is bedtime.  Sophia knows to go potty outside and is learning potty pads because her foster mom works.  She is a smart girl – this isn’t her first time around the block.  Being a “senior” does have its advantages!  No puppy nonsense in the middle of the night.  This girl tucks into sleep the entire night.  No crazy play sessions - she still loves to play, but not for long.  There are much better offers out there – like a warm lap to climb into for a binge session on Hulu.  Sophia walks on a leash and loves to be outside.  She stops potty frequently – this little lady wants to put her mark on everything she walks past.  She walks like she owns the world.  

Sophia has long hair – you can’t tell from her photos because when she came in rescue, it was badly tangled and heavily matted in some spots.  Taking her down to a short & sexy cut was the easiest way to address her situation.  In any case, trips to the groomer will be required in order for this beautiful girl to stay beautiful, whether you want her short & sassy or with that long, wavy coat that is just waiting to grow out.  Please be aware of that added expense and responsibility when considering her for adoption.

Sophia is a true love bug and we are so happy to help her find a new forever home.

Sophia is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  She has also had a dental with extractions and has been professionally groomed.  Her adoption fee is $200
