Learn more about the Lhasa Apso. Sweet Senior Alert! Kami is a 14 year old Lhasapoo. She came to us as an owner surrender when she could no longer be cared for properly by her elderly owner. She weighs about 14 pounds. Now we have had a lot of senior dogs in our rescue over the years and we definitely have a soft spot for all of them! But if we didn't see Kami's original paperwork, we would never believe she is 14 years old! This lady is going strong! Yes, she has some lumps and bumps (fatty masses and such - nothing to worry about!) and some clouding in her eyes but she has been given a clean bill of health by our vet. Kami is still active and keeps her foster mom on her toes! She is food motivated and loves her treats! She likes to keep up with what the neighbors are doing and will watch out a window or door and let them know she is watching. She has figured out how to get on the counter and will patrol for food! OK, not the best habit but she's 14 and it is a little funny. She has a big personality! Kami walks very well on a leash and enjoys occasional walks or potty walks. She will also use potty pads in her home if need be. Kami gets along well with other dogs and will nap away the day with them on the couch. She has no issues with cats. Kami is very content to lay next to her person and watching tv. She loves to nap and sleeps soundly through the night. Kami will need regular grooming also so please keep that in mind. She did very well with the bath and groom she received when she first arrived at our rescue. Kami has been through so much - she lost her parents, home and sister in a very short time frame. We want her next home to be her forever home and to be loved in her golden years. Kami is a happy little dog and would make an excellent companion! Kami is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm. Her adoption fee is only $100 just to cover her vet visit and vaccines.
