Asa is in the house!  Asa is an 2 year old Papillon mix (his shelter pw says he is a long hair chihuahua but we see pappy!)  He was adopted from a local shelter but due to family stuff, he was surrendered to PMR.  Asa weighs about 7ish pounds.  

Asa is such a handsome little dog.  He is smart too!  Asa is leash trained and walks nicely on it.  He will also potty when he is walking on a leash too!  He has a fully fenced yard in his foster home and enjoys being out there when the weather is nice.  He is doing well on his housetraining but will use potty pads in his foster home too.  He is crate trained also but will carry on initially until he settles down.  We were told he did very well with young kids in his last home but he has not been around them while in foster care.  

It took about 2 weeks for Asa's true personality to shine through.  He is a bossy little boy and a bit barky (yappy pappy!). Apartments would not work for him  He is a bit of a jerk to other dogs in his foster home at times - not all the time, just when he is feeling like he's the man. He will guard his bed and food from dogs - he does not do this with people.   He will bark at other dogs and chase them and he does not back down.  It is entertaining to watch but we are just letting you know he has a big personality. He is very loving with people though!  His favorite spot in the house is his foster mom's office chair and he will sit behind her all day long.  He loves to be held and snuggled and enjoys when his foster mom grooms him.  Asa just needs a home that will let him be himself and enjoy his quirks along with his cuteness!  If you know anything about quirky little dogs, Asa fits the bill!

Asa is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  His adoption fee is $450
