When you are at the top of your game, you are the Champ – and this little guy fits the bill!  Champ is a 10 year old Shih Tzu whose family surrendered him when they were no longer able to care for him. 

Champ is a gorgeous boy – and he knows it.  His hair is currently trimmed short for the hot summer weather, but you can tell by his magnificent tail how thick and luxurious his hair will be.  He is the color of a toasted marshmallow and loves to be held and cuddled.  Rub his belly and this boy is yours forever!

Champ is leash trained and will do a happy dance at the mere sight of his leash!  This boy loves to walk and strut his stuff. He is also very content to sit on the couch with you while you watch TV, binge Netflix, or scroll through your phone.  Champ wants to be with his people.  He will help you make breakfast.  He will help you make the beds.  He will help you take your shower.  He will be your new shadow.  Champ LOVES his people and struggles when he is left alone.  He will sing his song of misery to all those around him...and for this reason, Champ is not suitable for apartment living (unless you are home all the time!).  He does eventually pull himself together, but it may take him a little bit. 

Champ is good with the other dogs in his foster home but has not been actively tested with cats.  Champ goes potty outside and uses potty pads in his home.  He has been doing great with his housebreaking, but once he comes into his forever home there may be accidents.  It will be a brand new environment with brand new rules and brand new people – it may take him some time to get up to speed.  Please be patient with him as he adjusts to your home.  He wants to be a success and making his people happy is the most important thing in the world to him – give him the opportunity to show what a good boy he can be.

Champ is a Shih Tzu, and this breed requires grooming for him to maintain his gorgeous self.  Please be aware of this requirement.  He was an angel for the groomer and seemed to love every minute of it except the trimmer on his face. Scissors on his face are fine, but that trimmer pushes his buttons.

This senior gentleman is looking for a home where he can be playful and lazy, have cuddles and belly rubs, treats and people who love him as much as he loves them.  Champ is the complete package!

Champ is now neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  His adoption fee is $300
