A lot can happen between “Once Upon a Time” and “They Lived Happily Ever After” ...and the truth is often stranger than fiction.

Our “Royal Family” story begins in a Texas ditch.  A mom and 3 pups are found by a kind family, abandoned, dirty and hungry.  And in a unique twist of fate – the family decided to keep the mom!  This is a truly rare situation, as pups usually overshadow their mothers and it often takes much longer to find a home for the mom.   Not in this case!  These good Samaritans flipped the script, and the puppies came into rescue alone.  The only information we received about their mother was that she was around 20 lbs. and looked like a yorkie/silky terrier breed.  So now our story focuses on her children.

Princess Aurora is the biggest of the bunch.  You Disney fans know that Princess Aurora is the real name of Sleeping Beauty.  Yes, this peachy-colored scruffy, fluffy girl with the piercing green eyes is a champion sleeper and cuddler.  But don’t let that fool you – she is also the most active, the most curious, and the one most likely to cause mischief if she is quiet.  Don’t ever trust the silence! Typical to the Yorkie breed, she barks for attention.  Aurora puts her own sneaky twist on it – she barks at absolutely nothing, tricking her siblings into rushing over to see what is happening.   Aurora then doubles back to steal their food out of the now unguarded food dishes.  She is wickedly brilliant.  She was the first one to learn how to use the ramp to get up on the couch and use the stairs to get up on the big bed, barking impatiently at her siblings to stop being scared and just DO IT! She is on a mission to learn everything all at once.  This little lady is destined for greatness, and nothing is going to get in her way!

Please remember – she is a baby.  She learns quickly and loves to be rewarded and recognized for her accomplishments.  She has started to use potty pads in her foster home, but she has never been outside.   She recently received her second round of vaccinations and it is a big, dangerous world out there. She needs to be 100% protected.   She will need basic puppy training, patience, and lots of love for her to blossom into the amazing dog she is meant to be.  Please give her the opportunity to be successful.  With the right family support, love, and guidance – she is going to be an unstoppable force!

Aurora is current on her vaccinations, microchipped, and treated for fleas/worms.  She has not been tested for heartworm due to her age.  We are requiring a spay/neuter contract to be signed at the time of adoption (the cost of her spay is included in her adoption fee and fully explained in the contract).  She is scheduled to be spayed at Operation Pets on Thursday, June 30, 2022 and it will be the adopter's responsibility to take her to the appointment.
