Our chubby little Apollo is available for adoption!  This handsome boy is a 4 year old Shih Tzu and weighs about 20 pounds! Apollo is an owner who surrender to Pixie Mamas after his owner was no longer able to care for him as he needed.  Apollo is a former puppy mill dog and will require a specific home.  

 He is Apollo is a happy fellow and loves the company of other dogs!  He is quiet and gentle without a mean bone in his body.  Apollo is content to lay in his foster mom's office while she works.  He follows the other dogs around and is able to go up and downstairs with no issues, although he is very slow!  Apollo likes to be outside and follows the other dogs out when they go. He likes to watch them run and play and occasionally will get in on the action!   Apollo has a fully fenced yard in his foster home and we will want one for his forever home too (no invisible fences) as he is not able to walk on a leash at this time.  Although he is doing well on pottying outside, he will require time and patience in this area so please expect accidents as he learns.  He will also need another dog in his new home - it will help teach him the ropes of now being a pet.   He has had limited exposure to children but as long as they are a bit older and calm, he should be fine.   Apollo originally came from a puppy mill and was in rough shape when he arrived.  He needed a lot of TLC to get him ready for his new life.  Apollo will need to be groomed on a regular basis so please keep that in mind if you are considering adoption.  

**6/9/22 Update - Apollo is starting to show us his funny little personality in his foster home!  He LOVES to get booty scratches and will often stop in front of his foster mom just in case she has an extra minute to give him some loving!  He is found the cats in his foster home and although they live in another room, he is fascinated by them!  He will sit at the gate and watch them for hours, just waiting for them to do something, anything but sleep!  If they do he is very happy and starts to bark!  If they jump over the gate, he barks and then gives chase but he couldn't catch a cold let alone a cat.  Apollo has improved on stairs and has no issues going up or down.  He has not improved on a leash yet and just will not walk on it.  We will continue to work with him.  

Apollo is neutered, up to date with vaccines,  microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  He has also been given a dental and professionally groomed.  His adoption fee is $450
