Gustavo or Gus as he is known in his foster home is ready to find his new home and family!  He is a 10 month old German Shepherd that came to us locally when his owners were unable to give him the time and attention a young large breed dog needs.  

Gus is a young, strong, and ACTIVE dog!  Muddy paws and all - this boy loves the outdoors!  His favorite time is his daily walks and he walks well with training devices used properly.    Gus did not have much outdoor time during the first 9 months of his life and that in turn has him still working on his housetraining skills.  He was pee pad trained and is now working on transitioning to pottying outside instead.  He is crate trained and does very well in a crate.  He is so happy when you come home and he wants all your attention right away.  Gus is very intelligent and is picking up basic training skills and commands in his foster home.  He just wants to make his people happy and loves to be rewarded with treats and attention.  He is very treat and toy motivated and that helps with his training.  He always has a ball or a toy in his mouth, looking for someone to play fetch with him! 

Gus doesn't have a mean bone in his body - kids will be fine as long as they are a bit older due to his size.  He gets along well with other dogs and is learning to respect their personal space in his foster home.  He had initial curiosity about cats but is not aggressive to him.  Due to his size and the size of his bark, he is not a candidate for apartment life.  

Gus will need an active home, someone that will take the time to walk and play with him.  He will need a person that is patient and willing to continue his training as he is learning to become his best self!  

Gus is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. or heartworm.  His adoption fee is $500
