Dennis is a really big personality in a really small body. He is full drama, center stage – not sharing the spotlight with anyone ever – at all times. In honesty, he should be the star of his own reality show.  

Dennis was a local stray who was not claimed when he found himself at the animal shelter. He has some basic training, so someone obviously spent a lot of time working with him – we have no idea why no one stepped forward to claim this little furball. No matter – he is a Pixie now and ready to take on life on his own terms in a new home.  

Dennis is a chihuahua mix with thick, luxurious fur that he expects everyone to run their fingers through in admiration. He has big, soulful eyes, big ears always held at high alert, and a big mouth. Everything Dennis says is important. His opinion is valid, and everyone needs to hear it. In true 2-year-old temper tantrum fashion, if Dennis isn't getting as much attention as he feels entitled to, he will whine. This will grow into a kind of moaning howl. Which will then finally morph into the dog version of an air raid siren. He will not be ignored, he will not be denied. This world is the “Dennis Show” and everyone else in it is a minor cast member or the paparazzi trying to capture his glory on film. Due to the high volume, live-out-loud lifestyle Dennis has, apartment living will not work for him.  

Dennis is leash trained and loves to go for a walk. Dennis will climb over any dog in his path or swim through molten lava to get to that leash so HE is going to be the one going on that walk. This is a new stage – new people to pet him and admire him, a new way for him to showcase his magnificent self, out of doors for all to see. Nothing is getting in the way of that opportunity. Bring on the walk!  

Dennis will go potty outside and is using potty pads indoors since his foster mom works. Since he was neutered, he rarely marks in his foster home, but he is not perfect. When he finds his forever home, his new parents will need to be patient. This is a new environment with new rules. There may be accidents. He will catch on quickly – please give him the chance to be successful.  

Dennis is all cuddles, love and pure joy when being held. He will curl up into the tiniest ball in your lap, or spread out to full length so you can rub his belly. He sleeps through the night in the big bed with his foster mom and the other dogs in the house. He will try to sleep on the pillow right next to your face if he can get away with it. It is all about Dennis, all the time. Even at bedtime.  

Dennis loves other dogs and plays hard. He is always running the game, pulling everyone in. If he was at a wedding and they were trying to close down, he would be the one leading the conga line out to the parking lot.  

He is James Dean classic cool, Matthew McConaughey sexy. He is a better actor than Al Pacino and loves the ladies better than Jack Nicholson or Leonardo DiCaprio could ever dream of doing. He can also be gentle and caring like George Clooney and protective, loving, and dedicated to his family as Denzel Washington. He is a multi-faceted, magical little guy looking for his forever home.
