Jezebel aka Jezzy or Jessie is a 5 year old English Bulldog and 56 pounds.  She came to us heartworm positive and has successfully completed treatment.  She will need to remain on heartworm preventative year round for her lifetime. She otherwise got a clean bill of health and is looking for her forever home.

Jezzy is ALL BULLDOG!!  She loves people, annoyingly so.  She has no shame when it comes to belly rubs rolling over in public with no notice if she sees someone walk by. She will not get up either until someone rubs her belly and if she does she will run towards another person and roll over again. It is funny and we are working on her manners (sitting instead of rolling) but it also takes a long time to get through a store with her in tow.  We do take her as much as we can though because it brings her so much joy. 

Jezzy is fostered with other dogs but she is a VERY dominant female.  She is definitely dog selective at times.  There are times she is fine with everyone and then there are times she just feels like picking on someone so she does.  She hasn’t hurt anyone but she will charge at them, headbutt them, chest pump them, stand on their backs and the little ones she licks excessively.  This may be her form of play and or affection but most dogs don’t find humor in it.  If there is another dog in the home it would have to be a more laid back submissive sturdy dog,  a way in the home to keep them separate when needed and preferably with an experienced owner ( bulldog experience is a plus). 

Jezzy was used for a breeder dog In her former life.  She was surrendered because the last few attempts “didn’t take”.  Lucky for her because now she can live the life she deserves. She has had to many C-sections to even be ethical which is awful to do to a dog.  Due to this she urinates frequently.  If you crate her for a work day or overnight she will have leaked on her blankets.  She is however pee pad trained and she does go outside to do her business when able.  If you adopt Jezzy it would be preferable she is not crated for long periods but maybe offered a room that she is able to get up and move around in and use the pee pads as needed. Our guess is she also lived outside or on a hard surface as she has a little arthritis in one hip and if confined she takes a minute to get up and moving. Once up she is active, she runs, she does stairs, can play and even jump on the furniture. If you have to crate her for short periods though that is perfectly fine and she goes right in on command without any issues. Her skin is surprisingly in good shape and what wasn’t is healing up nicely.  Her nails need to be maintained regularly, we have cut them once a week since she has been in foster but they were so overgrown we can only do small cuts at one time as her quick grew out really far. 

Jezzy loves dog beds, she loves blankets, she loves the couch and loves to go for walks although she can't go far, she loves car rides, pup cups and basically to do anything you are doing. She does love kids but she is heavy and she is tough so older kids that she cant knock down, pull down and trample would be required for everyone to live happily. Jezzy is a happy bulldog, she is sweet, she is fun and she has the cutest face and butt wiggles ever !! She would love to find a home that will let her be someone’s baby and not be forced to have babies for profit!

If you have never owned a bulldog please know they are probably the most expensive breed to own.  They need routine vet care and normally have a vast array of health issues especially as they get older.  They require frequent cleaning of their wrinkles and for you to sometimes wipe their butts. They fart and snort and slobber.  They are also the most loving dogs In the world.  They are so funny and if you have never seen a bulldog run you are truly missing out.
