Maggie is ready for her forever home. Talk about a dog that will fit in just about anywhere, that’s her. Maggie is one of the most loving, affectionate, and well rounded dogs anyone could possibly ask for. This little lady arrived several months ago from Texas. Upon arrival, her foster mom immediately noticed something on her eye. We scheduled her an appointment with an eye specialist, who determined that Maggie had a tumor on her eye, that had a blood supply to it. It was recommended that her eye be removed. The specialist said that if it wasn’t removed, there was a possibility that the eye could rupture. We knew it had to be done. Her eye was recently removed and has been cleared for adoption. We wanted to make sure to post a before and after picture, so a potential adopter could see the true beauty in this girl. Although it is difficult to hide, Maggie’s beauty runs deep in her. She is not only a beautiful dog in appearance, but her soul is pure and full of love and joy. She’s one of the happiest dogs.

Maggie is nearly the perfect companion. She enjoys laying on the couch with you, but she also loves to play chase in the yard with the other dogs. She’s a fast one for sure! She is smart too, and knows how to avoid being caught by the other dogs. Shes been known to zig zag around, then hide in the bushes while they zoom past her. Maggie will ply with any dog, from 8 pound up to 50! Probably even bigger if they let her. She’s so much fun.

Maggie loves everyone she meets. She thinks people are just wonderful. She has been around kids but we recommend a home with children 8+, especially since she is still adjusting to having vision in only one eye. She likes smaller kids but their sudden movements tend to make her a little nervous at first. Maggie is great on a leash and loves to go for walks. The moment she sees the leash, she’s ready to go! Maggie is also great in the car. She will lay down in the backseat and let you chauffeur her around all day. As for the house training, she is housebroken, for the most part. Maggie will go outside any time you let her out, except when it’s thundering and lightning or a downpour. Then, Maggie has been known to have accidents in the house. A normal rain doesn’t seem to bother her, but heavy rain, she does not like. Then again, I guess I wouldn’t want to go out in those conditions either.

Like many Texas dogs, she loves to be outside. A fenced-in yard is not required for Maggie but we will not be adopting her to a home with an electric fence. Maggie follows her family members all around the house. She has no sense of personal space. Even when you are in the kitchen cooking, Maggie is underfoot. She won’t move either. She likes to lay right at your feet at all times. Maggie is crate trained but she is rarely crated. There is no need. When her mom is gone for work, Maggie lays in the kitchen under the table until she gets home. Maggie is not a chewer nor is she a barker. In fact, Maggie rarely barks at all! She really is a dog that will fit in almost any home. If you think Maggie is a match for your family, make sure you apply today.

Maggie is spayed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  Her adoption fee is $450
