BooJoe is ready for his forever home. This super sweet, little man came to use from a sanctuary in Texas after his previous owners passed away. At only 4 years old, he lost the only family he had ever know. He was not overly friendly with the staff and volunteers in the rescue so they asked if we could help him out. He does need a little bit of time to acclimate to a new situation. But it does not take long for him to run up on your lap, flip over for belly rubs, or run along the back of the couch to lick your ear. He is a funny little man that is just insecure at first. Once he feels safe in your home, he will loving welcome anyone you allow in, with his whole heart.
Once in his foster home, BooJoe's true personality came out. He was no longer shy and afraid, he is full of life and very playful. BooJoe loves to play with all the toys. He is very vocal when he plays so his noises can be misunderstood as meanness, but in reality, BooJoe just has a lot to say. BooJoe is a fantastic watch dog. HIs favorite past time, other than lounging in his family's lap, is to sit and watch the world pass by his window. He will make sure that no one encroaches on his yard, no person, bird, squirrel or any other animal, is allowed to enter his yard unannounced. Boo does not have a little yippy bark, it's actually a deep bark for a little guy. We do not think he would be good in an apartment setting. BooJoe does get along well with other dogs in his foster home. He does like to play with them at times, but it is often short lived. BooJoe does appear to be mostly housebroken. He is often left in the kitchen while his foster family is at work, and there are no accidents when they come home. But please realize that accidents may occur initially as he learns your routine. BooJoe is a little character. In true chihuahua fashion, he wants all your attention. He loves to curl up under the blankets and lay pushed up against his foster mama at night. You will be expected to move around him overnight, Boo is not about to move for you. He has been around older children (over12) with no issues. In fact his favorite person in his foster home is the teenage daughter who lives there. When she coms home, BooJoe can barely contain his excitement. The songs he sings when he sees her are hysterical. BooJoe is currently learning to walk on a leash and doing very well. He is excellent in the car. He will sit on the console right next to you as you drive around time. Don't worry though, he is attached to a doggie seat belt for safety. If you think BooJoe is the right fit for you, make sure you apply today. BooJoe is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm. His adoption fee is $400
