Hollie is now available for adoption!  This sweet little ginger girl made her way from Texas to WNY back in December. We don't know much about her history, but we do know her future will be bright. She was a very shy little girl that was afraid of the world. With the help of our team, Hollie has blossomed into a very loving and affectionate little girl. She definitely has some trust issues when meeting new people and will need time to adjust to her new home. Once she does, Hollie is full of love. In fact she will paw emphatically at your hand to make sure you are petting her.

Hollie has come a long way in her foster home, but she is still fearful in new situations. Her initial reaction is to avoid new people. She will not be your best friend immediately. In fact it is a slow process with her. When she meets someone new, Hollie will bark at them then run away from them. Once she sees that the other dogs in her foster home like the new person, Hollie will cautiously approach, smell, and maybe let the new person pet her. She does not like it when a new person reaches over her head to pet her. She will duck and cower with her tail between her legs. But if you pet her under the chin at first, Hollie is much more comfortable. Hollie is very playful. She loves to run with the other dogs in her foster home. She will wrestle with them, then curl up on the couch next to her foster mom. Since Hollie follows the lead of the other dogs, and they help her gain confidence, Hollie must have another dog in her home. Hollie is doing very well on her house training. When she goes outside, Hollie knows exactly what to do. She will require a fully fenced yard, no electric or invisible fences, in her forever home. She is not leash trained at this time, but we are slowly working on in it in her foster home. Any new situation causes Hollie to react in fear and avoidance. Time is needed to help her overcome the fear. She is very food motivated, so that has been extremely helpful in Hollies progress. Hollie enjoys laying outside and sunny herself on the nice days we have had lately. Hollie is crate trained but she is rarely left in a crate anymore. In fact when her foster mom is at work, Hollie is left loose in the house. Sometimes she will use a pee pad but those situations are rare. Hollie is very excited when her foster mom gets home from work. She will jump up and down while releasing a high pitched bark. When her mom bends down to pet her, Hollie will paw frantically at her hand then lower her head to ask for a kiss on the cheek. At night, Hollie will sleep on the pillow right next to her mama. As soon as the alarm goes off, Hollie is scratching at her hand to get up. Hollie will not let you hit that snooze alarm, you wont be late for work again with her around. Due to her nervousness a home with older, calmer children (12+) would be better for Hollie at this time. Even though she is not a dog from a puppy mill, Hollie does have many of the qualities of a typical mill dog. In time she does warm up and loves her family. She needs someone who will understand the patients she needs when introduced to a new environment. In return she will give you the love and companionship you desire. Each day is a new adventure for Hollie. Will you be the one that help to continue to show her the world is full of positive people?  If so, make sure you apply for her today.

Hollie is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg for heartworm.  Her adoption fee is $400
