If there was a picture in the dictionary to describe loyal it would be of Truffle!  She is an approximate 2 year old dachshund Mix.  She came to us as an owner surrender because she was pregnant (by a mastiff mix- poor girl). She did have one puppy but unfortunately it was still born.  Truffle took the loss of her puppy  very hard but with a lot of love and kindness she has recovered nicely both physically and emotionally. 

Truffle lived outside on a chain most of her adult life and now that she is in a home she is just thriving!  She loves her foster family more then anything in the world and is very friendly and loving to anyone who visits.  Her eyes look right into your soul and she lets you know every day that you are the most important person in the world to her. Truffle likes to do anything you do.  If you want to walk- she’s game! If you want a partner to go get your coffee in the morning she will take a pup cup or Tim Bit please. If you don’t feel good or want to crash on the couch at the end of a long day she is right by your side- always!  When it’s time for bed she sleeps under the covers all curled up against you. She will put you on a pedestal and do anything to please you All she wants is Your love!

Truffle loves kids and is fostered with other dogs of all sizes in her foster home.  She gets along with everyone but growls at times when the other dogs try to take her place on the couch.  She is easily corrected with a firm NO. 

Truffle is working on crate training and will not go to the bathroom in it but she does cry and will take some time to settle down if you leave the home.  If you live in an apartment she will not be able to be crated as she is pretty loud about it. She has only had a couple accidents in the house right in the beginning but she does have a doggy door and a fenced yard in her foster home. Please expect accidents as she acclimates to a new home and routine. 

Truffle has been through a lot in her short life and we are so happy and very proud of her progress.   We know that she will do great in almost any home where there is kindness and love- it’s all she wants in life   Don’t we all?  If you think you can provide this girl with an amazing forever home please apply!
