Learn more about the Miniature Pinscher.

Pinky is a 12 year old min pin surrendered by her family for euthanasia because she was “bumping into things.” The vet immediately said no and started the search for a rescue for help!  Who could say no to this precious girl? Not us that’s for sure!

Pinky is absolutely amazing! She is a plump little girl, and despite her eyes failing, her nose works JUST fine!  She can smell her meal being made from anywhere in the house! Pinky was in desperate need of a dental and unfortunately had to have her teeth removed, but she’s eating soft food without any issues!  She also had a huge mammary tumor removed, and although she is sore, she is improving every day.  Pinky is an easy going girl who has adjusted quite well to her foster home!  She picked the largest dog bed in the house and claimed it as her own!  Good for her!!!  She loves to burrow in the blankets and she’s so good at it you would never even know she’s in there if you were just walking by.  Pinky loves to go outside and patrol the yard.  Even though her vision isn’t great, she compensates extremely well and can follow your voice to come back to you when called.  She is such a well behaved little girl with a lot of life left in her. She is quiet and would do just fine in an apartment. In fact the only time you ever hear from her is when she is hungry or she has to go outside.  She has had accidents in the house.  Some of it was her foster family not being able to pick up on her queues, some also may be age, or lack of adjustment to the various homes and routines she has had in such a short time. Pinky may benefit from pee pads for overnight and if her family is gone for long periods.  Due to the location of her mammary tumor removals we have not tried her on a leash so it is unknown if she is leash trained. She can live with other dogs but due to her vision she will growl at them if they get in her face or try to get in her bed.  Overall She is such a love bug and deserves a retirement home of her own! We are so happy to have her and we all love her so much already!  Her foster mom calls her little mama and she gets so excited to hear it that her little nub goes crazy! Our hope is that Pinky finds a wonderful family who will not dump her at the end of her life!  A family who will stand by her side, provide her with the medical care she needs going forward and an unlimited amount of love!  A comfy bed, warm meals, and lots of blankets are a must for Pinky!

Pinky has dry eye and will need Medication twice a day for life.  She is on optimmune which is about 50 dollars a month.  Also, due to her lack of teeth she will require soft/canned food but she is not at all picky.  If you think you can provide Pinky with the forever home she deserves please apply!

Pinky is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  Her adoption fee is $125 to help with her medical costs.
