Learn more about the Chihuahua. Diva came to Pixie Mamas when her elderly owner was no longer able to care for her. She is 10 years old, but you would never know it to look at her. Diva keeps up with the other dogs in her foster home – out racing the young ones most every time. She is a champion cuddler & is always searching out a lap to occupy or a shoulder to perch upon. Dainty as can be, she will drape herself over your shoulder and cross her ankles like the lady she is when you sit on the couch. But like most dogs, she needs some time to get to know you and warm up. Diva rides well in the car, but she does NOT like a crate. She will be aggressive going in, and she will be aggressive coming out. She returns to her loving self the very minute she escapes the confines of the crate. Her spirit just cannot be caged. Diva is learning about potty pads. She is successful indoors most times. Sometimes a bulls-eye on the center of the pad, sometimes maybe a little tipped off the edge. Once or twice totally missing it entirely, but she was in the correct room, so she deserves credit for that. It is a process, and there are always mistakes when a new process is started. Please be patient as she learns the processes in place at your home. She will get there. Diva obviously prefers to potty outside and will stand by the door when she needs to go. The flip-side is that she just loves to be outside, so sometimes standing by the door could be just a sham to get you to take her outside in the sunshine. Our Diva can be a sneaky girl when she wants to be! Diva will stand up on her back legs and hold her position when seeking treats. You will be amazed at how tall she is! She enjoys a bath – lots of scrubbing feels good and she doesn’t hide from the sprayer for a clean rinse. She knows she is beautiful and likes to show off. Diva loves her walks and does wonderful with a leash and harness. She doesn’t feel the need to hike mountain trails or race agility courses. At her age, she is beyond such things. She wants to be held, pampered, cuddled, fed treats, valued and loved. She wants a home to protect, a pillow to sleep on, and a family to love her. Life doesn’t get much better than that. Diva is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm. Her adoption fee is $175
