Learn more about the Chihuahua. Apple Pie is a super sweet senior who came to WNY from Texas at the end of April. We do not know much about her background, but we believe that she was in a hoarding situation prior to rescue. Apple Pie is her foster mom’s shadow. She gets nervous when her foster parents leave the room, and will follow them everywhere. She just wants to be near her person! As soon as you sit down she will be at your feet waiting to be picked up to snuggle on your lap. Apple Pie enjoys interacting with other small, calm dogs, but she would also be fine as the only dog in the home. She has not been tested with cats or children, but we think she would do fine with older kids who respect her boundaries. She is working on potty training in her foster home and has learned to use potty pads. She is also getting used to walking on a leash. She cannot do stairs and needs to be carried over any steps. She seems to be hard of hearing, and her vision is great. Apple Pie is not crate trained. She sleeps in her doggy bed overnight and when her foster parents are not home. Ideally, Apple Pie’s retirement home is a quiet one with someone who is home most of the time, so she can be showered with the time and attention that she deserves. If you are looking for a sweet little companion lap dog, Apple Pie may be your girl! Apple Pie is spayed, micro-chipped and UTD on vaccines, tested neg. for heartworm and recently had a dental with several teeth extracted.
