You know that here at Pixie Mamas Rescue, we have a soft spot for those sweet seniors. The ones that have been let down by their previous owners. That is just the case with sweet Desi. She was surrendered to a local shelter because she was “peeing all over the house for the past year”. Come to find out, she was suffering from a urinary tract infection. It was so bad that it took over a month of antibiotics to clear it up.  She also had crystals in her urine. The crystals were cutting her bladder and causing the UTI. With proper medical care, combined with being on her prescription food, Desi is no longer going in the house! Desi is fully housebroken. Not one accident, even when loose in the house while her foster mama is at work. We really don’t know how old Desi is. We were originally told 13, but our vet estimates 8-10, based on her arthritis and energy level. In her foster her she is always ready to play with her fur siblings. Got a ball, Desi is ready to play! Not to mention going for a walk. If you are ready, so is Desi. In typical boxer fashion, she never leaves your side. She will lean in for a good ole scratching. When it’s time to sit on the couch to cuddle, Desi is right there with her head on your lap. She has no sense of personal space. She wants to make sure you know you are loved.

Although Desi is good with other dogs, she can be a little overwhelming initially to new dogs. Slow introductions are best. Once she adjusts in her retirement home, she is perfect. Desi has been around children as young as 2 years old but we do feel that a home with older more respectful would be best for her. Desi is an amazing lady, who loves absolutely everyone. She is full of love and kisses all day long. If you are looking for a gentle dog who will shower you with kisses and devotion, look no further; Desi is your girl!

Desi is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  Her adoption fee is just $150 to help her find her forever home!
