One of the non chihuahuas in our rescue! Owen is a 8 year old peke/shih tzu mix. The shelter said he was 5 but we think he is a little older then that. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date with his shots and heartworm negative. He was an owner turn in; his mom couldn’t keep him as times got too tough for her. He did have a reaction to flea medication and developed some skin issues but they have cleared up now. His eyes are a bit cloudy and his ears were pretty yucky too. We put him on some really good food and supplements and it has done wonders for him. He is still sensitive about his front paws though and really doesn't want them to be touched. Owen likes to lie on his bed and just hang out and boy does he LOVE being outside! He will play a little bit with toys but he is not the young guy he used to be. He is housetrained, likes short walks and really enjoys car rides. Owen loves to pet and brushed and once you give him some attention, you have his forever! Owen would do best in a quiet home without any rambunctious dogs as he often has to remind his foster brothers and sisters to leave him alone as he is low energy, a perfect dog for a senior home. He was recently groomed and he looks pretty dapper now. Owen has been in foster care since March. We wanted to make sure he was healthy and what he could tolerate in a home before we adopted him out.
