Learn more about the Great Pyrenees.
Meet Leo! Leo is a Great Pyrenees mix, about 5 months old, and already nearing 30 pounds of fluff!
Leo and his brother Norm came to us all the way from Texas to find their forever homes. Pyrenees mixes, these dogs require someone with experience in larger breeds, preferably with livestock guardian dogs. LGDs tend to be independent thinkers with a stubborn streak. They are also very sensitive so they need gentle but consistent training. Electric fences won’t hold them if they are on a mission, so a fence is a must.
Leo has learned some commands like sit and is still learning to like his crate. He is mostly housebroken but sometimes forgets when he’s playing. He likes to know where everyone is and is a cuddler but at the same time, he likes to relax by himself. Oh, and he LOVES food which will help with his training! He does great on a leash and enjoys going for walks.
Leo would do well with another dog for guidance or would do just as well being an only dog.
If you want a larger dog, can handle the hair, slobber, and overall fun that comes with him, Leo could be the dog for you! Leo will finish his vetting on September 5th and will be available shortly after that but we are currently accepting applications for him. He will be neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated upon adoption. His adoption fee is $350
