Oh Mattie Gee. You have stolen our hearts.  Mattie is a 2 year old doxie/pug mix that found herself in a local shelter.  She passed all the temperament tests with flying colors, but she was just so shy and afraid.  The staff worked hard with her to try and show Mattie that people aren't so bad.  But this little lady was not meant for life in a shelter.  The shelter staff knew Mattie would be much better off with a rescue.  So, Mattie Gee is now a Pixie.  And man is she happy about that! 

Mattie is a wonderful little girl.  She is completely devoted to her family. Admittedly, Mattie is a little shy initially, but she warms up quickly.  Once she settles into your routine, Mattie will be at your constant side.  Mattie is mostly house broken and fully crate trained.  She does seem to enjoy going for walks around the neighborhood and is great in the car.  Mattie does enjoy playing with toys, especially the nylabones.  Those are her favorite!  Mattie gets along well other dogs, around her size, but seems afraid of those that are much larger than her. Mattie does get nervous when the other dogs in her foster home get too excited and move quickly around her, but again once she knows they aren't going to hurt her, Mattie is just fine.  Due to the fact that Mattie is fearful initially, a fenced in yard is required for her.  Mattie is a sweetheart of a dog that just needs time to settle into her new home.  Once she does, Mattie will be your constant companion.  If you are willing to give this beauty a few days to settle into your home, make sure you apply!  You won't be disappointed!
