Ernie is a 1.5 year old mix breed dog - our best guess is maybe min pin/dachshund but he could have other breeds mixed in there too!  We do know that he is pretty cute and very sweet!!    He came to us from Texas after being found in a dump.  It’s uncertain if he grew up there or was “dumped” there but whatever the case may be he was sent to NY for bigger and better things. 

Ernie is an absolute sweetheart who loves to be with people.  In addition to being extremely handsome, he is also  super cuddly and eager to please.  His favorite things are your lap and your bed! Although Ernie is very confident with people he has some shyness and strange fears about living inside a home.  He is afraid of doorways, Gates, mops, vaccuums etc.  He has gotten much better about everything but that makes us wonder if Ernie was ever allowed to live inside a home.  So sad! Ernie loves to play with toys, he loves other playful dogs his size as long as they aren’t over dominant as that scares him and is okay with cats.  He has had very little exposure to leash training so a fenced yard is preferred (no electric fences) but an unfenced yard may be Considered for the right family. Ernie is doing very well on housebreaking and is completely crate trained.   If you have been looking for a loving, loyal companion and think Ernie may be your guy please apply!
