Who's the man?  Rico's the man!  Rico is a 5 year old Chihuahua/Pekingese mix that came to us when a local shelter saw that he needed a little help with socialization.  See, Rico originally came to Buffalo when he was found down south in a hotel room with 24 other dogs.  When Rico was approached by strangers he would become vocal, growl and hide.  Once he arrived in his foster home, we quickly saw his loving personality.  Rico is absolutely devoted to his person.  He can't seem to get enough love, and is never far behind. He is determined to make sure his person is never lonely, and will shower you with kisses!  Even if you go outside for 5 minutes, upon returning he is there dancing away like you have been gone for hours.  Rico is still nervous when he meets new people but seems to quickly warm up.  He is very food motivated and is learning all sorts of new tricks, including sit.  Rico is crate trained, although he is not a fan of it, but once inside, Rico will settle in and relax.  Rico enjoys going for walks and car rides, he even likes to wade through the water on a hot day!  With Rico being afraid of strangers, he would do best in a quiet home without small children who will run up to him.  Rico appears to be mostly housebroken, in a fenced in yard, when he can run out to do his business.  He does get along with other dogs.  If you are looking for someone to sit by your sided while you work, Rico is the man!  If you need someone to watch TV with you, Rico is the man!  If you are looking for a loving and faithful companion, Rico is the man!

Rico is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, tested neg for heartworm and flea/worm treated.  His adoption fee is $350
