Please meet Fern!  She is an 8 yr old, 8 pound Chihuahua that came to us as an owner surrender. 

After a month of love and confidence building (and a new name) Fern is ready for her new forever home. She is a loving dog that craves belly rubs and back scratches. She is friendly with other small dogs, but does not really play with them, nor has she shown any interest in toys a t this time. She would make a good companion for an older dog  or person that prefers a quiet life. She does love dog beds and sleeps in one near her foster family each night. She is shy and nervous at first but a new forever family will be rewarded with her love and attention (and many little licks) after a short time of patience. She is a super smart girl, and has learned her name and comes when called. She is used to being in a crate but gets lonesome after a time and starts to wine now that she has learned the value of company. She also is an expert at using the puppy pad to relieve herself but also cool with going out doors to do it when taken out. She is a young 8 years and 8.75 stocky pounds and super active and happy with a tail that never stops wagging since she has become comfortable with her new life. She has not met cats while in foster. She has not been walked on a leash yet. Fern will likely bond with older calm children but is not recommended for younger kids, she is very interested in the man of the house and likes to be “daddy’s girl” in her current foster home.
