Cookie has one of those stories that just tug on your heart strings.  She was living in a home with an older person who could no longer take care of her or them-self.  She was surrendered to a shelter with a major case of fleas and literally lost all of her hair when the staff bathed her. She was red raw from the allergy and deemed unadoptable.  This little dog needed a rescue to help or she would have been euthanized immediately.  Thankfully a kind shelter worker contacted Pixie Mamas and Cookie came to us, naked and all.  We immediately put her on a good diet, gave her supplements and other medical treatment.  It did not take long for her to start feeling better and her coat started to come quickly.  She now looks amazing and only has a few spots that may never fully heal.  But the best part of this story is just how wonderful of a dog Cookie is!  They say a dog knows when they have been rescued and they are grateful for the second chance at life.  I think Cookie really knows how close she came to not being here because she is just a sweet little dog.  She is wherever her person is in the house, laying at their feet and going wherever they go.  She is agile too for her age - this girl can jump a baby gate like no one else!  Cookie is a good little watch dog too - she always lets us know when something is going on that shouldn't be and she always likes to announce that she is on her way when she goes outside!  Cookie is house trained and leash trained - remember to expect some adjustment time in a new home with any new dog!  She does not like the crate - reminds her of the shelter I guess.  She is a great little lap dog that just needs a lap to call her own!  Cookie is about 5 or 6 years old - many many years left though!  She is spayed, up to date with vaccines, wormed, and ready for a new home!  Are you ready to give Cookie a new home?
