Learn more about the Chihuahua. Pepper Jack is one of a litter of puppies that recently came from Texas. They were found living on the streets, struggling to survive. He is now approximately 9 months old and is quite unique among the litter. He is the only one with a smooth coat!
Pepper Jack, also known as PJ or simply P, is a great little guy. He is so sweet and loving. When his foster mama comes home, P does the pony dance. He hops from one front foot to the other and dips his head in excitement. He’s so playful too. He loves to wrestle with the other dogs in his home. The way he folds in half and collapses when playing makes his foster family wonder if he has any bones in his little body. He’s hysterical to watch. P is the perfect combination of play and love. You never have to look far for him because PJ will not let you out of his sight. If you turn around, he is guaranteed to be there. PJ enjoys relaxing his day away with you. If you are on the couch, he’s right there next to you. Cooking in the kitchen, yep PJ is at your feet. Working in the yard, oh he’s there too. At bedtime, PJ is curled up in a ball smooshed up against you. You can’t escape this boys love and affection.
PJ is just the happiest guy. Smart too! He has picked up on the house training very well. He’s not perfect but almost. He knows to go outside and if you can’t get him out, PJ will use a potty pad. So sometimes overnight the pad has been used and sometimes it hasn’t. PJ is currently working on his crate training. He isn’t a fan of it, but being a puppy, PJ will chew on things, like the remote, so he should be crated when you aren’t home. This is for his safety. PJ will bark and cry on his crate at first, but does settle down after a bit. He can’t help it. PJ just wants to be with his family. They are everything to him. PJ is also learning some basic commands like sit. Again not perfect but a work in progress. Sometimes he gets it and sometimes he doesn’t. This is fairly new to him, so he will get there. Lastly, PJ is working on his leash training. Right now he is practicing in the backyard of his foster home. PJ is a nervous dog so time and patience is needed with him. He would do better in a home with a fully fenced yard. Sorry no electric fences for him. Since he is nervous, he does require a martingale collar at the time of adoption. If you do not have one, you can purchase one from us for an additional $10. This should be on him at all times esp when he is not in his fenced yard. This is for his safety.
If you think you are the right match of PJ, make sure to apply today.
y! Pepper Jack is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm. His adoption fee is $400
