Learn more about the Chihuahua. Rosie is ready to start her happily ever after! She is a chihuahua mix (we actually think she may be a Toy Manchester Terrier!). She is approximately 3 years and weighs 9 pounds. She is sleek and leggy - what a pretty girl! Rosie came to us all the way from Texas. She had been rescued from a shelter where she was badly wounded, possibly from an attack by a larger dog. After several months of recovery, she underwent heartworm treatment, which enabled her to travel to WNY and start a new life. We are thrilled to welcome her here and excited to see her thrive in her foster home. Rosie is an absolute sweetheart! She loves receiving love and giving it back. She is gentle, affectionate and enjoys snuggling up with her foster mom. Rosie jumps into her mom's lap to give and get kisses. She is a happy little dog who loves to spread joy. Rosie gets along well with other small dogs, but she would also be content being the only dog in her new home too. She is already trained to walk on a leash and is good in her crate. Rosie is still adjusting to the cold weather, so housetraining is still a work in progress. She will use potty pads though. Whenever the weather is nice, she enjoys being outside. In her foster home, she has access to a fully fenced yard, which is a big plus. Rosie has a tendency to run out the door as soon as it opens, so it's important to be careful with this little door dasher! Rosie has spent time with young kids and loved every minute of it! She's a sweetheart and as long as the kids are respectful & gentle, they will get along just fine. Rosie is a bit of a barker, so she wouldn't be the best fit for an apartment. However, once you tell her to calm down, she will listen and be quiet. She's also a great little watchdog, so you'll always feel safe with her around! Rosie isn't too fond of cats and tends to chase them around. She's not really interested in toys or playing with other dogs, but she does love a chewy treat when she's in her crate. Overall, Rosie is a loyal and loving companion who will make a great addition to your home! It breaks our hearts to see the scars that Rosie carries from her recent past. But we are determined to be by her side every step of the way on her journey to finding her forever home. Rosie is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated. She has been treated for heartworm disease and will need to remain on monthly prevention for the rest of her life. Her adoption fee is $450
