Welcome to Western New York Sadie Baby!

Sadie is a 3 year old chihuahua mix who came to us from Texas.  If we were to guess, it appears that there might be some mini pinscher in there with the chihuahua  – look at those eyebrows and tan stockings!

Sadie loves to be held, get pets, big cuddles, and tons of kisses  – as long as it is all about her, she is 100% on board with anything.  Like some ladies we all know, she does have a jealous streak.  If she is on your lap, she does not want anyone messing with her status!  She is the Queen and everyone else needs to wait their turn.  When the shoe is on the other foot, however, she has no intention of waiting her turn and she is absolutely offended that anyone would even suggest such a thing!  She will bulldoze her way up on to your lap and knock the current occupant right out of the way…if you let her get away with it.  She takes direction well, but will push the envelope to see if you will correct her.  This tiny girl is always looking to see how far she can go, how much she can get away with, and where the line in the sand actually is.  She will follow your rules, but only after she understands that HER rules are not an option. 

Given that she feels she is the Queen of Everything, Sadie would do best in a home as a solo dog…or perhaps with one other dog to play with.  She acts like a brat and will try to bully other dogs if she has to share too much of the attention.  She can also be greedy girl at meal times.  She finishes her meal and then strolls around looking for an opening to steal someone else’s food.  She is 100 lbs. of pure entitled Diva crammed into a 10 lb. body.

She is a good watchdog and her bark and warning growl sound much bigger than her actual small self.  She will bark if she sees something worth barking about, but she will also bark in solidarity if the other dogs in the house are barking at nothing.  She never misses an opportunity to be heard.  It may take her a few minutes to warm up to new people.  She is protective of her home, her family, and herself.  Once she has decided that your company is not a threat, she will be ready for them to provide belly rubs and chin scratches all night long. She is full of love – and once she trusts you, she will be attached to your hip.

Sadie is doing well with her housebreaking.  She goes potty outside with the other dogs in her foster home and they are teaching her about potty pads since her foster mom works.  There may be accidents in her new home as she learns a new routine and new expectations.  Please be patient while she tries – she wants to make her family proud and will always do her best to please them. She is still working on her leash training.  She has the basics – but will require her forever family to teach her the rest and make her confident to strut her stuff along the sidewalk.  She has not been tested with children or cats.

Sadie is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg.for heartworm.  Her adoption fee is $400
