Introducing Mellow! She has the most amazing ears. She looks like she is about to take off sometimes. Mellow is anything but mellow. This little lady wants to play, play, play!  Mellow is a 3 year old chihuahua terrier mix. She originally came to use from a rescue down in Texas. Why no one wanted to adopt her is beyond us. She is a very sweet and loving. We just know the perfect home is here in WNY. 

Mellow is timid of new people and new situations. We have found that allowing Mellow the space she needs to approach you first is best. Once she knows that she is safe, and that you mean her no harm Mellow is your best friend. She is a great mix of energy and chill. Mellow is crate trained, and excellent on a leash. Mellow is a perfect walker. She gets along well with other dogs, and does not seem to be bothered by cats either. Mellow is content to relax in her crate all day while you are at work, but once you are home, Mellow is ready to play. Her forever home better have lots and lots of balls. This is the quickest way to Mellow's heart. Balls of every size from the small chuck-it balls, to tennis balls, to the larger squishy balls. This girl is a fetching pro. She will have you throw the ball as much as possible and bring it back to you every single time. She will even drop it directly in your hand. And you better throw the ball she brings you. If you try to switch the ball with another, even if it looks identical, Mellow will know. She knows which ball she had; that is the ball you throw. After a day of fetch, Mellow will curl up on the back of the couch while you watch TV. At bedtime, she is the first one in bed. She has to get the prime spot of sleeping next to you or on your pillow. She has to be as close as possible to you at all times. Mellow has the gentlest of kisses and takes her treats very carefully. 

Mellow is doing excellent on her house training. She knows what to do when you let her outside. It will be up to you to let her outside. She can make it all night without any accidents. She is at a great age. At 3 years old she is fun and active but beyond the chewing and destruction stage. One thing we have noticed is that Mellow does not want to be pulled by the collar. You can touch her collar, play with it, and attach a leash to it,  but do not pull on it. But then again, I wouldn't want to be pulled by my neck either. Since Mellow is so good on a leash, a fenced in yard is not required for her at this time. As for children, we do think that since Mellow has an issue with being pulled by her neck, older children (over 12) would be best for her. Mellow is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  Her adoption fee is $400
