Jairo or JJ as his foster mom calls him, is an 8 - 9 year old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel that came to us as a breeder release.  After years of being used to make money, JJ is looking forward to his new life just being a dog!

Even though JJ's life did not start ideally, he is still a lovely little dog!  He is learning so much in his foster home - he has now mastered stairs and can go outside freely to enjoy the weather and the yard.  He is better going up the stairs than down and we have to carry him outside most of the time.  It does take him a bit to potty outside, he can be distracted and wants to be back in the house!  If given enough time outside, he does his business.  Please note that he is not housetrained - he will have accidents inside and probably will for a while.  JJ found his favorite bed in the kitchen and that is where he will be most of the time.  

JJ's tail always seems to be wagging.  True to his breed, he is a good-natured dog.  He is gentle and affectionate.  Nothing seems to bother him.  He was very tolerant of the much needed bath and groom he received and enjoyed all the pampering.  He will need regular grooming every few months also.  He is good with other dogs and would love another small dog to hang out with in his new home but it would not be required if someone is home a lot to keep him company.  JJ is still working on his housetraining but he has improved since first arriving in rescue.  He does have a fully fenced yard in his foster home so that is an advantage.  He is not leash trained but we think he will be able to learn this skill with practice.  He does well in a crate.  JJ is not a big barker if at all.  He has done well in the car when he went on a couple of short drives with his foster mom.  He is truly enjoying his freedom!  

JJ is neutered,  up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg, for heartworm.  His adoption fee is $400
