Learn more about the Pomeranian. Learn more about the Shih Tzu.

Introducing Tierra! Tierra is a 7 year old Shihtzu Pomeranian mix, who originally came from Japan with her owner. Tierra recently found herself needing rescue after her mama passed away. Tierra is used to being the princess in her home, and would like to have her crown restored to the proper place, on her head! She can be a little bit of a spit fire but has more love to give than any other dog.

Tierra was definitely well loved by her mama. And we can understand why. Talk about a perfect little girl. Tierra is housebroken and crate trained, excellent on a leash, and fantastic in the car. She absolutely loves her people. Tierra can be a little nervous with new people but she quickly warms up. She has an amazing personality! All she wants is to be loved. When you come home, Tierra will stand on her back legs, with her front legs wide open for you to pick her up. Everywhere you go, Tierra is right behind you. As soon as you sit on the couch, Tierra is on your lap, and snuggles into your chest. At night Tierra curls up against you. She has no sense of personal space. She is always pawing at you to pet her.

Tierra was used to being the only dog in her previous home. She is used to soaking up all the attention. She has gotten used to the other dogs in her foster home, but she would prefer to be the only one if possible. If there is another dog, she would like it to be a small senior that will leave her alone. Tierra is not into playing with the other dogs, but she does like to play with squeaky toys with her people.

Tierra is used to being brushed daily and had no issues with it. She has been groomed and was very good, once away from her foster mom, until it came to her nails. Then the gremlin in her came out. She made some interesting sounds! Apparently, she was hit by a car as a young pup so she is very sensitive when it comes to her feet, especially her one back foot. You can touch them just make sure a professional is in charge of the clipping. When it comes to meeting new people Tierra tends to like everyone she meets, but on her terms. She wants to be able to walk up to them. Please don’t try to hand her off to a stranger while you are holding her. It scares Tierra and the gremlin makes her appearance again. Tierra has not been exposed to cats In her foster home, so we are unsure how she will react to them. She would do better in a home with kids over the age of 12.

Tierra is a princess who knows exactly what she wants, and will make sure she gets it. She will not be ignored when it comes to all her snuggles. Of you are looking for a companion who will be by your side and make sure you are never lonely, look no further. Our girl Tierra is the one for you.
