Papillon (long coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Senior : : Small
Learn more about the Papillon. Our little buddy Bandit is available for adoption. Earlier this week we posted Finn, well now his brother Bandit is up for adoption. Bandit is an 11 long haired chihuahua that was in need of rescue after his previous mama passed away. We have a soft spot for the senior dogs, and are always trying to help our local dogs in need. We couldn’t pass him up. We knew he needed to be a pixie.
Bandit is a low-maintenance dog. If you are looking for a chill little buddy, look no further. Bandit is very friendly and loving. He is a quiet little guy who prefers to sleep in his bed or on the couch. He is a big ball of fluff! He loves his butt scratched and will paw at his people to give him more scratches. Bandit may be an 11-year-old senior, but that doesn’t slow him down. He enjoys playing with your hands and even toys are still fun. He is the definition of a lap dog. He loves to be carried all around and is very happy to sit on your lap while you watch TV. Bandit will give you lots of kisses too. You don’t have to worry about stinky breath either! Bandit recently had a dental and had only a few teeth left. They were pretty rotten. With his long luscious flowing fur, he will need to be brushed on a regular basis to prevent matting. But the good news is, he loves the brush. It’s quality time he gets to spend with you, so that makes him happy.
Bandit is leash trained, crate trained and excellent in the car. He will go outside to potty, but in extreme cold, or if you are away too long, he will use a potty pad. Bandit is what many people are looking for. He is great with other dogs but does not need another in order to be happy. He would most likely be good with cats as well. Nothing seems to bother him too much. Well except large crazy puppies, but at his age, I don’t blame him. Based on his size and age slightly older (11+) would probably better for him.
The sad news is, that Bandit does have a grade 4 heart murmur. He is on daily medication which is a combination of lasix, enalipril, and vetmedin. This medication helps to keep him healthy. So far he is doing great on the medication. The lasix does make his drink more, so he needs to go out. Again though, Bandit will use the potty pads as needed.
If you think Bandit is the right fit for you, make sure you apply today. Buddy is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, and tested neg. for heartworm. His adoption fee is $200
